Submitted: June 18th 2009
Deadline: June 24th 2009

This month a top women's glossy magazine is looking at the trend to get experts to come to your house to teach you and your friends something new. It could be floristry, sewing, jewellery-making, cookery, anything!

If you've held some kind of class in your home or you happen to teach one, do please drop me an email as soon as you can with a few details (and your tel no) and we may be able to plug your business in our next issue.

My email is emmaelms@fastmail.fm

Are you using the internet in Business?

Submitted: 10th June
Deadline: 15th June

I'm a journalist for Solutions, a small business magazine produced for Sage, and I'm looking for some real life examples of companies who use the internet in their business. It could be Twitter, blogging, regular email updates to clients, LinkedIn, Facebook, Ryze or online forums.

Have they worked for your business? What has been the best thing about them? Or do you think they're totally overhyped and only appropriate for PR agencies?

I'm interested in real-life examples of using Web 2.0 in business, so please be honest.

Please reply by email to me: laurajaynedixon@gmail.com with a brief note saying what your company does, how it uses Web 2.0 and whether it has been successful or not.

Does the way you dress affect your success? Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Submitted: 16th March 2009
Deadline: ASAP

Cosmopolitan would like to speak to women about their working wardrobe. Does your company have a dress code? Have you ever worked somewhere where the dress code made you angry?

Do you think women are smartening up now, in the competitive recession? Do you like dress-down Fridays?

We would like to hear all your thoughts on getting dressed for work.

Ricochet TV, makers of Channel 4 series Risking it All

Deadline: ASAP

We are currently looking for people who, having been laid off, are using their redundancy money to fund their own business venture.  In particular we want to hear from couples who have decided to go into business together - preferably with a venture that is new territory to both of them.  We'd like to hear from couples who are planning a new business, just about to launch or are in the early stages of trading.

Ideally the kind of businesses we'd be interested in featuring would be service or product based, rather than IT or finance driven.

If this sounds like you, call me, Marc Lewis or Sue Dulay on 01273 224 828 or email ournewbusiness@ricochet.co.uk

Have you set up a new business during the Recession?

Submitted: 13.03.09
Deadline: ASAP

I am a freelance journalist and I am working on a story about women who have recently set up a new business as a result of the recession. Perhaps they lost their job or were struggling to make ends meet following the market downturn.

The feature hasn't been commissioned yet but I have two case studies already and am looking for a third.

There is no deadline but it would be great to hear from people ASAP as it's very much a current issue.

Would you like a life-changing experience?

Submitted: 6th March 2009

Diverse TV is making a second series of Tribal Wives for BBC2. Tribal Wives is an award nominated documentary series which sends six British women to live with different tribes around the world for around a month, to explore women’s lives there and to experience what it’s like to be a tribal woman. It’s a unique opportunity to find out about some of the oldest and most unknown communities and to experience a completely different way of living.

We are particularly interested in women from high flying career backgrounds who may wish to reassess their lives.

If you’re interested, please call me, Emanuelle Maclean, on: 0117 906 9366
