Kate Hampton – Tring Group

Wedding, Portrait and Event photographer, Kate Hampton, is based in Tring and has been taking photographs since she was 7 years old!  Despite pursuing a career in advertising, television and the leisure industry, she never stopped taking photographs for her family and friends, who eventually persuaded her to focus fully on her photography and develop it as a business.   As she works on her own, from home, and has two children to care for as well, she found that it was all too easy just to focus on the needs of her clients, with business building and development taking a back seat. “Athough I have always been good at making contacts and keeping up a network, what joining WIBN has done, is to give me a monthly focus on my business.

After the meeting I follow up ideas and contacts made, then over the following two weeks schedule some networking meetings, with the final week in the cycle thinking about goals for the next month so that I have something new to talk about at the next meeting," says Kate. 

She joined the Tring group shortly after it launched last year and has just taken on a committee role of chairing the meetings.

However, she finds the networking doesn't take much time, and there is a structure to it so it now fits naturally in and around her day to day work, so at least once a week she is thinking about moving her business forward. In addition, she has had real business as a result of WIBN and been able to pass business across to the other members too. Kate concludes, “I also greatly enjoy the opportunity to meet with like-minded women in a supportive, business atmosphere."
