When I was at a group meeting last year, I was lucky enough to be introduced to a new visitor, who sadly did not join our group, she did however refer me to her partner who is an accountant. He in turn has referred me to a number of his clients, and I have now arranged over £1.5 million worth of finance for them. I have split my commissions with him and the lady who introduced me. We are currently working with another of his clients to re-finance his £14 million portfolio of properties!!

This has proved to me that the group meetings really do work. You never know who you will meet and how they can help you with referrals later after the initial meeting. Networking is a long term strategy and you often reap the rewards quite a while after the initial meeting, as this has proved to me.

When I first joined WIBN I had no budget for professional memberships and was in two minds whether this was a good use of my money. I am delighted to say that I quickly recovered the membership costs in new course fees and sales through my website received both directly and indirectly from other WIBN members.

I have also made substantial savings having found new suppliers among the other WIBN members. I can now see how word of mouth is the most valuable marketing tool there is and would thoroughly recommend WIBN. Having just renewed my membership I wanted to say thank you to all of you who have made my first year at WIBN so memorable. When I first joined, I was just starting out in my business and found the idea of promoting myself terrifying.

I had no clear business strategy when I joined WIBN, but that has now changed. I have met people with a wide range of businesses, but we all have lots in common. Monthly meetings have made me focus on my goals and also to look at my achievements. The training sessions have been thought provoking.

Without realising it, I have become much more business focussed, yet it hasn't changed the way I operate. I can promote myself and others more effectively now and I am constantly looking for ways to promote other WIBN members because I enjoy doing so. Much of my business has come from and through WIBN members – something I am very grateful for. In addition, I have made some very good and supportive friendships through WIBN and I think this encapsulates WIBN for me – friendly, relaxed yet focussed and supportive.

I am really glad that we met and you introduced me to WIBN. I am really impressed with the business I have already picked up, over £1,000 just from the launch!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to boast and let you know that I have won Best Federation of Small Business consultant in the East of England. I told the Stevenage group yesterday that I would never have achieved it if it hadn't been for all the support and referrals from WIBN members. The power of referrals and WIBN !!

Just to let you know how pleased I am to be involved with the WIBN. I have recently been able to pass some new referrals on to Debbie of CPM. Although the referrals are quite modest it's great to get Debbie's enthusiastic feedback. I feel it is a good foundation that results in a better understanding of each others' businesses and finding further ways in which we can help one another. It is so pleasing to be able to help a fellow WIBN member!

Also, on going in to see my Business Link advisor after being prompted at one of the meetings, they were certainly aware of WIBN and very pleased to hear that I was networking as a valuable way of making new contacts and of course for business referrals.

I went to the WIBN training yesterday, and it was fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend it to all the other members. I have been out of 'networking' for 6 years and this has given me the confidence to really increase my business.

I wanted to let you know that I will be having a WIBN sort of weekend really because I'm doing coaching for 2 WIBN ladies (tonight & tomorrow), seeing another on Sat who is creating a new website for me, ordering products from another as Xmas presents, liaising with a WIBN member printer about invites they're creating for a party... and finally, socialising with another WIBN lassie on Sunday too. Also, had a session with Business Link lady today (who came to a WIBN meeting), which was cool too. Whatever did I do with my time before WIBN?!!

'I found the training session extremely useful, particularly the sixty second slot. I have belonged to another networking group since last summer, and have been on various training sessions with them but felt that the WIBN session was extremely constructive & focused.
