THE WOMEN IN BUSINESS NETWORK
Terms & Conditions

None of us like to be governed by a set of ‘rules’ but as a growing organisation we recognise the need to introduce terms and conditions when applying for WIBN membership. These ensure that each group runs efficiently and each member is treated in the same manner.

1) Each member must represent the profession that is either their main business or is a substantial part of their business activity. Only one core activity can be represented at the meeting – if a member wishes to represent other areas of their business, other than the one originally listed on their application form, they need to seek permission from their Regional Support Director or directly from WIBN Head Office.

2) A larger company may join multiple groups. Each group joined must correlate geographically to the business location or the area that business is being sort after. In the event of one company joining more than one group each application must be submitted separately and a corporate membership can be discussed.

3) An individual in business may join a maximum of three groups across the region.

4) If a member wants to change the profession that they are registered for, providing that profession is not already represented in their group, simply discuss it with the Regional Support Director responsible for that group and submit a new application form to WIBN Head office. No additional fees apply.

5) Members may transfer between groups if there is sufficient justification and reason for this transfer. Each situation will be considered on a case by case basis and a transfer fee of £10 + VAT may be levied for administration purposes. Contact the Regional Support Director for your existing group initially.

6) If a member cannot attend a meeting, they should arrange for a representative to attend in their place.

7) Membership fees are payable annually, by cheque, cash or credit card/debit card via PayPal. All fees are subject to VAT at the current rates where applicable and are subject to change without notice.

8) Renewal notices will be sent out approximately one month before the renewal is due and payment must be received by the renewal date in order for the membership to continue. If payment it is not received within 14 days of the renewal date, the membership will cease.

9) In the event that a member wants to terminate their membership, whatever the reason, the fees are not refundable. In the unlikely case of membership being terminated by WIBN for whatever reason, the fees are not refundable.

10) In the unlikely event of conflict or complaint, please contact your Regional Support Director to resolve the issue at group level. However if you feel that your complaint has not been dealt with to your satisfaction, please contact WIBN Head Office who will make every effort to resolve the problem. WIBN reserves the right to judge each case separately and any decision will not be considered a precedent.

11) WIBN cannot be held responsible for any business or personal issues, meetings or contracts entered into between members or visitors following an introduction at any of our meetings.

12) WIBN (and its representatives) reserves the right to refuse membership to any individuals or companies. WIBN will not be obliged to discuss the decision.

13) If 3 consecutive meetings are missed (regardless of notification) WIBN reserve the right to revoke membership and re-open the professional category within the group. Exemption will be given only if the member has gained permission for the absences (i.e. maternity leave, illness or bereavement).

14) Membership will be revoked if a member consistently encroaches upon another member’s category during the meetings.
