Abigail Whipp - Mother – Entrepreneur – Designer – Creative Cut Guru – Freedom Seeker Get to know me…
Hi, my name is Abigail Whipp and I’m grateful that our paths have crossed. My mission and my purpose is to create pieces of art that provoke thought, capture a sentiment or build strong connections with our loved ones.
The greatest achievement each of us can strive for in life is to have the ability to create our world so that it matches the dream that we have seen in our mind. It is how Steve Jobs created Apple, how Mother Theresa made her impression of love on the world and how we explored beyond our own planet and landed on the moon.
Our dreams are the rocket fuel for our very existence and that coupled with our incessant need to connect with our Creator has pushed many people, like me, to pursue their passion for creativity, love and connection through our work.
Born and raised in the progressive coastal City of Brighton, I remember seeing many people living a life that expressed a freedom that I connected with, but thought beyond my grasp. After pursuing a degree in 1992, I neatly put my qualifications in a frame on a wall and left this behind to pursue a career and life that were much more conventional than my heart had capacity for.
But… that feeling never left me. It was like a seed waiting to grow and when life and work became too beige and my creativity was being suffocated in policies and procedures… I did what some might call crazy, but I call escaping! ... Escaping to plant that seed and grow a business and life that gave rise to my biggest passion – relating to others, sharing my genuine love for people and using my creativity to offer connections, when words are too hard to say to those we love the most.
You’ll see the three ranges I have created cater to every type of client need and budget... all of which come wrapped in high quality packaging and a personal note from me that details the thoughts that went into the creation of each design. I have an ever expanding portfolio of materials, ranging from paper, wood, stone and metals, each that bring a sense of connection to our world, but that are personalised with words, symbols or references to something that has meaning for my clients.
Each piece is unique and made to order and where possible I upcycle the materials and consider the environment when I am designing my pieces.
When I’m not working, I do my best to experience as much as I possibly can during the short window of time we all have here…my husband and boys now get more of me, as I work from my home studio and have found the nirvana of balancing work and home life.
