Danielle Bridge of ABC Life Support Helps Save Lives

Your name? Danielle Bridge

Your business name? ABC Life Support

How long have you been in business? 5 Years

What do you love most about your job? Knowing that the information that I am giving can literally help save a life.

Your claim to fame? Pink – The Pop Star loved my hair. Also have released a garage music single with my now husband back in 2010 before we got together!

Your first childhood memory? I really can’t remember! My life is full of awesome recent memories so it can’t have been that good!

How long have you been a member of WIBN and why did you join? Since February this year. I was lonely working by myself and felt that I needed the support of likeminded females who could relate to my circumstances and offer advice and comradery.

Most frightening film and why? Thriller! I was only young, around 7 and watched it. I had nightmares for weeks. After that I decided that horror films were no good for me…I didn’t and do not understand why you would enjoy being frightened…

What sort of training did you have before going into this business? I was a trainer with St John Ambulance and prior to that I was always the workplace first aider. Total of around 12 years delivering and training first aid.

What advice would you give someone who wants to set up their own business? Go for it but find out if it’s truly what you want to do. Some people hate being their own boss and that’s ok, let somebody else be the driver but if you decide to go for it, be prepared for one hell of a rollercoaster ride!

The one business you couldn’t possibly live without? Waitrose.

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you? Angela Bassett. She stared as Tina Turner in What’s love got to do with it and that is one of my favourite films. A powerful, strong black actress with serious clout.

What is the last book you read? The Sophie Project by Graeme C. Simsion

What is the best thing that someone has said about you and your business? That I am the most relevant and memorable trainer to deliver first aid for them. This was a women who had been on first aid courses every 3 years for 20 years!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing – what one thing would you do differently? Trust in my ability and plan ahead!

If you could be a super hero, what would you want your superpowers to be? My superpower would be to never be tired!

How would you describe your business in three words? Worthwhile, empowering, life changing

What were you hoping we’d ask you, but didn’t? Nothing. I was ready for anything!

How have things changed for your business over the past few years? Growth. After my youngest child went into full time school in September I have ramped up my expectations of myself and of the business.

What is the greatest challenge in running a business? Juggling. As a mum I want to be able to do it all. Something has to give and that’s where my need to plan better comes in.

What are your plans for the future? To try and run and grow the business in a way that has a positive impact on my life, that of my family, financially and otherwise as well getting the balance right!

What’s the best thing about being a member of WIBN? Support, friendship, confidence. I have truly seen and am reaping the rewards of being a member of WIBN. It is better that I could have ever hoped for.
