“If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.”

The great Red Adair was fearless. and he wasn’t afraid to pay the right person to do the right job.

I was reminded of his quote recently when told that someone’s son would be writing their web site copy, as he’d do it for free and had GCSE English. Good luck with that.

Whether you’re after good photography, or web design, or legal advice or – heaven forbid – words written, it’s best to pay a professional. Pay someone who specialises in what you’re after. They know their stuff. They probably spend all day every day doing what you need.

One of the best benefits of networking is getting to meet specialists. It’s good to know you’re meeting professionals. We all own keyboards and pens, but that doesn’t make us all writers. Any more than owning a phone with a camera on it makes us photographers.

And knowing where the nearest fire extinguisher is doesn’t make us Red Adair.
