National Women in Engineering Day is taking place again on 23 June 2016 and this is a chance to support, inspire, celebrate and raise the profile of women in engineering. It is also an opportunity to draw attention to the amazing careers in engineering for girls and young people. The Women’s Engineering Society has a Resource Pack available to download from the NWED website www.nwed.org.uk or receive by post from [email protected]. It is hoped that the day will have a big social media presence again through the hashtag #NWED2016. The subtheme for the day is Raising Profiles and the event will be accompanied by the publication of a list of 50 Influential Women in Engineering, which is being coordinated by The Daily Telegraph tgr.ph/we50 . A number of other campaigns and competitions are running on that day too, and full details can be found at www.nwed.org.uk.
Supporters are being urged to celebrate the day as much as possible.
