Stretches at your desk to avoid getting tense

As human beings we were not built to sit for long periods of time – however – we do!

Here are some useful stretches for you do whilst sitting at your desk to help relieve tension stored in the back and upper shoulders.


  • shoulder roll – shoulders up, back and down – create space between your ears and your shoulders
  • open out your arms to stretch across your chest
  • stand up and walk around
  • ear to shoulder stretch – other side ear to shoulder -stretches the neck
