TV Show for Channel 5 Seeking Family for Holiday Swap Program

Emporium Productions, (a television production company based in London, further details about the company can be found on our website: emporiumproductions.co.uk) are producing an exciting new travel series with a difference for Channel 5 and we’re looking for families and groups of friends to take part.

Each episode will see two families from opposite ends of the wealth divide swap holidays to experience the opposite of their usual summer break – super luxury or cheap ‘n cheerful. We will of course cover the cost of the holidays and the families are very welcome to still go on their scheduled trip and the tone of the series will be warm hearted in tone.

We have found from previous series that the majority of our families from the high-income bracket have been entrepreneurs and business owners, who want to show their children a different side to life and give them a new experience while at the same time having an adventure for the whole family. They have also used the exposure the program has generated to help promote their business’, as although we cannot guarantee product/business placement, it almost always makes strong editorial sense to include the business in the story of the high-income families.

We’re the makers of Channel 5’s hit documentary series Rich House, Poor House so we’ve a vast knowledge of producing heart-warming television programmes with real purpose. The focus of the new tv series is to show how money affects family life and holidays, rather than an examination of the specifics of each family’s financial circumstances. Although their socioeconomic situation may be different, the families are matched by the things they have in common.

The ambition of the programme is to look at how much money matters to happiness through the eyes of the two families experiencing holidays at the other end of the wealth divide. The families’ perspectives give a thought-provoking and fascinating insight into how we live our lives. And of course, we want it to be a very fun, enjoyable and memory-making experience for the families.
