EFFECT OF THESE CONDITIONS
Any application for, or renewal of, membership of WIBN will be deemed to be made on the basis of these Terms and Conditions, which will govern the on-going relationship between the member, WIBN and the WIBN Group to which the member belongs.
Each member must represent the profession that is either their main business or forms a substantial part of their main business activity. Only one core activity can be promoted by each member at the meeting. If a member wishes to represent other areas of their business than originally listed on their application form, they must seek permission from their Group Chairperson or from WIBN directly.
If a member wants to change their registered profession, provided that profession is not already represented in their group, they should discuss it with their Chairperson. A fee of £10/Euros 13 (+VAT) may be levied for administration purposes.
Members may only transfer between groups in exceptional circumstances. Each situation will be considered on a case by case basis and a transfer fee of £10/Euros 13 (+VAT) may be levied for administration purposes. Initially, they should contact the Chairperson of their group.
If a member cannot attend a meeting they should arrange for a representative/substitute to attend in their place, having first checked with the Chairperson regarding suitability.
If a member fails to attend regularly, WIBN reserves the right to review and revoke their membership. If a member is absent from 2 or more meetings (without sending a representative/substitute) in a 12 month membership period, their professional category may be re-opened. A leave of absence, including maternity leave, may be possible in certain circumstances but must be agreed in advance by the Group Chairperson.
If a Member is absent from 4 or more meetings in total in a 12 month membership period, their membership may be terminated at the discretion of the Group Chairperson.
Members may give up their membership at any time after joining, but no refund will be made on any remaining portion of the membership year. If a member leaves the group without giving adequate notice, the Group Chairperson may seek to recover any expenses incurred on that member’s behalf, including meeting fees. If membership ceases for whatever reason, the member’s details will be completely removed from the WIBN website, www.wibn.co.uk, together with any posts which may have been submitted for publication on the website by the member.
VISITS TO OTHER GROUPS
Members are permitted a maximum of 4 visits (per group) to different WIBN groups, where their profession is not already represented, throughout their 12 month membership period. More visits may be permitted at the Chairperson’s discretion.
Membership fees at the level applied by WIBN from time to time are payable annually by money transfer, cheque or cash, subject to VAT at the appropriate rate where applicable.
Renewal notices will be sent out approximately one month before the renewal is due and payment must be received by the renewal date in order for the membership to continue. If payment is not received within 14 days of the renewal date the membership may be terminated at the discretion of the Group Chairperson .
In the event that a member wishes to terminate their membership, for whatever reason, the fees are not refundable. If the membership is terminated by WIBN, for whatever reason, fees are not refundable.
Meeting fees are payable monthly by standing order at the levels applied by WIBN from time to time (plus VAT at the appropriate rate if applicable). Members must set up a standing order at the start of their membership and make continuing payments as long as their membership is in force, regardless of attendance. No refunds will be given, other than in the event that a meeting is cancelled by the Chairperson, in which case the member will receive a meeting fee refund for that month.
WIBN reserves the right to move a WIBN meeting to a new venue where necessary. Venue choice is entirely at the discretion of the Chairperson. There will only be a meeting date or venue change when the circumstances are beyond our control. Should the date change without adequate notice and within 3 weeks of the diarised meeting, thus preventing a WIBN member from attending their monthly meeting, the member will receive a meeting fee refund from the Group Chairperson. In the event of a venue change beyond an acceptable distance, thus preventing the WIBN member from attending, the same refund will apply, and the member should contact their Group Chairperson.
The WIBN franchisee will not be liable for failure to hold a monthly meeting if such failure is as a result of Acts of God (including fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane or other natural disaster), war, invasion, act of foreign enemies, hostilities (regardless of whether war is declared), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection, military or usurped power or confiscation, terrorist activities, nationalisation, government sanction, blockage, embargo, labour dispute, strike, lockout or interruption or failure of electricity or telephone service
In accordance with the requirements of the GDPR (May 2018), your opt-in preferences will be requested when you submit your profile for the WIBN website. You can change these at any time by informing your Group Chairperson.
Neither WIBN nor its Associates, Franchisees or Group Chairpersons are to be held responsible for the outcome of business or any other activity conducted between WIBN members. Each party should satisfy themselves as to the expertise and/or fitness of the other party to supply the service or product in question to an appropriate standard, and their qualification(s) to do so.
